DAY 1 BEN GURION AIRPORT - NAZARETH
Where you will be met by a Nazarene Tours Representative.
Transfer to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Nazareth.
DAY 2 NAZARETH – MEGIDDO – TABOR
Nazareth – Visit the city of Jesus, with the Basilica of Annunciation
and the Well of the Virgin Mary. Enjoy a wonderfully memorable experience visiting
'Nazareth Village' – a museum which brings to life a farm and a Galilean village,
recreating Nazareth as it was 2,000 years ago. Combining archeology and re-creation
it is a window into history and the life of Jesus. Continue to Megiddo where the
last great battle on earth will take place, preserved by the National Parks Authority.
Finally, drive to Mount Tabor, the traditional site of the transfiguration symbolized
by two large Churches on the mountain summit, Franciscan and Greek commemorate the
event. Return to your hotel in Nazareth for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 3 NAZARETH – TIBERIAS – TABGHA – BEATITUDES – CAPEURNAUM - BANIAS
From Nazareth visit Tiberias
by the Sea of the Galilee to Tabgha the site of the Miracle of the Fish and Loaves.
Caphernahum where Jesus started his preaching, visit the old Synagogue and house
of St. Peter. Drive to the Mount of Beatitudes, where the ceremony on the Mount
took place. Continue via the Golan Heights to Banias, one of the Jordan River's
sources, where Phillip, son of Herods, established the capital city for his kingdom
on the Upper Galilee. Finally, on to the Baptismal site on the River Jordan. Return
to your hotel in Nazareth for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 4 NAZARETH – CANA – AKKO – HAIFA – CESAREA
From Nazareth visit Cana, the site where Jesus performed
the Miracle of turning water into to wine during a wedding celebration. Proceed
to Akko to visit the Crusaders City then onto Haifa to enjoy the panoramic view
from Mount Carmel and finally Cesarea, the City of Herods, where it is possible
to visit the ruins of the Roman Theatre and the Crusaders City. Return to your hotel
in Nazareth for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 5 NAZARETH – JORDAN BRIDGE – JERASH – MOUNT NEBO – MA'DABA – AMMAN
From Nazareth drive towards Jordan. Crossing the
border at Sheikh Hussein Bridge continuing towards Jerash to visit the largest ruins
of a Roman City discovered and visit the New Baptismal site on the River Jordan.
We then proceed towards Mount Nebo, where Moses stood and watched the Promised Land
without entering it. Then on to Madaba, to see the beautiful mosaic floor of the
Byzantine Church from the 4th Century showing the map of Jerusalem. Continue to
Amman for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 6 AMMAN – PETRA
From Amman we head towards
Petra to visit the ancient Nabatean capital that was carved out of the rose, red,
pink, salmon and cinnamon colored Nubian sandstone within a secure enclosure of
mountain cliffs and valleys. Dinner and overnight stay in Petra.
DAY 7 PETRA – WADI RUM – ARAVA – EILAT
We leave Petra and head towards Wadi Rum, a vast silent place
of desert scenery including a Jeep desert ride. We cross from Jordan back to Israel
via the Arava border crossing and continue our way towards Eilat. We will visit
the Underwater Observatory and Aquarium in Eilat and drive for a sightsee tour of
the town. Dinner and overnight stay in Eilat.
DAY 8 EILAT – DEAD SEA – MASSADA – QUMRAN – JERICHO – JERUSALEM
Leave Eilat and drive to the Dead Sea (420 meters below
sea level). We will ascend by cable car to the top of the Massada Fortress – the
last resistance place against the Romans and learn its heroic story. Drive to Ein
Gedi, a desert oasis, where we will walk through the nature reserve. We will visit
Qumran, the site where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered. Drive to Jericho, the
oldest city in the world, stopping by the Mount of Temptation. Drive via Wadi Kelt
on the Roman ancient road for observation of St. Georges Monastery. Visit Bethany
and St. Lazarus's Tomb. Proceed to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 9 JERUSALEM – BETHLEHEM
We enter the Old City of Jerusalem via the Dung Gate to
visit the Wailing Wall and the Temple Mount. Proceed to Mount Zion to visit the
Cenacle – the Last Supper Room, King David's Tomb and The Dormition Abbey. Drive
to Bethlehem, to visit the Church of the Nativity and the Shepard's Fields. Return
to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY 10 JERUSALEM
Drive to the Mount
of Olives, where you can enjoy the spectacular view over the Holy City. On the Mount
of Olives we visit the Pater Noster Church and the Church of Ascension. From there
we descend to Josaphat Valley to the Garden of Gethsemane and the Church of All
Nations. We then enter the old city to walk the 'Via of the Cross' (Via Dolorosa)
to the Holy Sepulchre. Dinner and overnight stay in Jerusalem.
DAY 11 JERUSALEM – WESTERN NEW CITY
We drive via the western new city of Jerusalem, observe the Hebrew
University, the Parliament House and The Supreme Court. We will also visit the Israel
Museum that exhibit artifacts from archeological excavations found throughout Israel,
we will also visit the Shrine of the Book where the scrolls of the Dead Sea are
displayed. We continue to Yad Vashem, the new Holocaust Museum. Dinner and overnight
stay in Jerusalem.
DAY 12 JERUSALEM – NEOT KEDUMIM – TEL AVIV – JAFFA
From Jerusalem
head towards Neot Kedumim a place where the land is cultivated as the same way as
in biblical times, every season the landscape changes providing visitors the chance
to view the history of the land. From there we will head towards Tel Aviv and Jaffa.
Jaffa is believed to be the place Jonah stepped ashore from the mouth of the whale
and Perseus circled the harbor on his winged horse Pegasus. Jaffa also lays claim
to the oldest working harbor in the world. Dinner and overnight stay in Jaffa. DAY
13 JERUSALEM - BEN GURION AIRPORT Transfer from your hotel to Tel Aviv Airport for
departure. A Nazarene Tours representative will assist with your formalities.
