Cana
Cana is an Arab town north-east of Nazareth, on the road towards Tiberias. It is
believed to be the site of Jesus’ first miracle, when he turned water into wine
at a wedding reception (John 2:1-11). To commemorate this event Franciscan church
exhibits a type of jar said to have contained the water Jesus turned into wine.
Cana was also the home of Nathanael, a disciple of Jesus (John 21:2). A Chapel now
stands over the site of his house.
